Paragraph describing professional background: Teresa concentrates her practice on medical malpractice defense litigating complex medical malpractice cases.  Prior to joining Brennan Burtker LLC, Teresa practiced family law and was a certified Guardian ad Litem in DuPage County. She also clerked for the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office in both the Criminal Appeals and Gang Crimes divisions, and interned at the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia. Teresa graduated magna cum laude from Loyola University Chicago School of Law. She competed on both the Vis and Uvaldo Herrera moot court teams and served as a lead article editor on the Loyola University Chicago School of Law Journal.

A paragraph describing interests when not billing or blogging: When I’m not working, you can find me playing violin,  reading, or spending time by the lake. I also love sharks and scuba diving, so there’s a good chance I’m working on another scuba certification or planning my next dive trip.

Best Thing About Being a Lawyer: The best thing about being a lawyer is advocating for justice on your client’s behalf. Attorneys possess a special set of skills, and I truly appreciate being able to use those skills to give my clients a voice.
