Volunteers Needed for Chicago Bar Association’s 43rd Annual Moot Court Competition

It’s the time of year again for the Young Lawyers Section to host its Moot Court Competition, in which 30 teams made up of 2-3 law students compete from around the nation. The teams have been working on the selected problem since August and have submitted their briefs, which will be scored by volunteer judges. Each team will then be judged on its oral arguments during the competition. Team advancements will be based on a combination of the teams’ brief scores and oral argument scores.

The Committee is still in need of multiple volunteers for the oral argument portion of the competition. Volunteers will judge the teams’ oral arguments and time spent is eligible for CLE credit. Volunteers must be Illinois licensed attorneys.

The competition is set for November 13-15. On November 13, the competition will be hosted at the CBA Building, with the following two days held at the Dirksen Federal Courthouse. This is a great opportunity for any attorney to network, be eligible for CLE credit, and give back, especially newly admitted attorneys looking to get involved early on in their legal career.
