Committee Name: Serving Our Seniors
Chair Information: Maureen E. Loughran, attorney with FMS Law Group LLC. Practice centered on probate and trust litigation and administration (adult and minor guardianships, decedent estates and associated fiduciary litigation), estate planning, elder law and special needs planning.
Mallory Moreno, attorney with Delaney Delaney & Voorn, Ltd. Practice centered on elder law, specifically prevention and civil litigation of financial exploitation, as well as adult guardianships, estate administration, trust administration and litigation, long-term care planning, Medicaid, and Medicaid appeals.
Day of Committee Meetings: We will hold Power of Attorney and Advance Directive Workshops on:
- Saturday, September 8, 2018;
- Saturday, January 19, 2019; and
- Saturday, April 20, 2019.
All will be from 1:00-3:30 p.m. at the Center on Halsted, 806 W. Halsted, Chicago, Illinois. We will also hold 1-2 CLE trainings prior to the workshops at 12:15 at the CBA, with specific days TBD.
Goals and Objectives for the 2018 – 2019 Year: We hope to serve 100+ low-income seniors in the Chicagoland community to increase access to advanced directives.
Featured Speakers or Seminars: We will host a CLE on Powers of Attorney and Advanced Directives as training for our community workshops with seniors in conjunction with the Center for Disability and Elder Law.
