In federal court, whenever you do anything, make sure to check out the court’s local rules for their court. It is important to follow their requirements, even if it conflicts with the FRCP! In the Northern district of Illinois (“N.D. Ill.”), the court not only has local rules, but so do the judges! Make sure to do your homework and check the Federal Rules, Local Rules and Judge’s Rules.
