Posted by Once again, the Young Lawyers Section has teamed up with Chicago Public Schools and Direct Effect Charities to help fulfill the Christmas wishes of disadvantaged CPS students and their families. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Direct Effect Charities is seeking gift card donations instead of physical gifts, to make shopping safe and accessible for the students and their families.
Direct Effect Charities will work with school principals who will distribute the gift cards with an emphasis on whole families, as opposed to individual students. The recipients will be students’ families at the following schools: Blair Childhood Academy, Southside Occupational, Funston Elementary School, Nixon Elementary, Woodson Elementary School, Cooper Elementary Dual Language Academy, Ruiz Elementary School, and Reilly Elementary School.
The CBA YLS has created charity gift registries for you to make your gift card donations. When gift cards are purchased through these charity gift registries, they will be delivered straight to Direct Effect Charities.
